Blue Crab Population Remains Sustainable

Despite the population of female blue crabs decreasing 12.5%, it is still well above the threshold for sustainability.

Forest Buffer Plantings Steadily Increase

In 2023, more miles of new forest buffers were planted than any year since 2016. The plantings reached 71.2% of the annual goal, which was only met in 2002.

Most Tree Planting Since Tracking Began

The 2,577.4 acres of trees planted in 2023 is the highest reported since tracking via the National Environmental Information Exchange Network began in 2014.
